Adventure Tour Packages
Board the Jhansi Shatabdi train from Delhi. Our Satluj Travels representative will receive you at Jhansi Railway Station. From there, drive by road to Khajuraho, arriving by late afternoon.
Khajuraho is a world-renowned heritage site famous for its exquisite Hindu and Jain temples. The group of temples at Khajuraho is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its intricate erotic rock carvings. Perfectly located near the Vindhya mountain range, which serves as a beautiful backdrop, Khajuraho is a must-visit tourist destination in India.
The erotic sculptures of Khajuraho, showcasing the Kama Sutra, are a major charm of tourism in India. These sculptures are based on Indo-Aryan architecture, blended with stone, reflecting the passion of the Chandela dynasty for Indian art and craft. The temples are supported by idols of Hindu gods, adding a different outlook while exploring this tourist site.
The temples are further divided into three groups:
Western Group – Largest and most important
Eastern Group
Southern Group
The evening is free to explore the nearby town. You can also visit the art and craft shops or relax at a café while looking at the group of temples – a great joy not to be missed.
Begin your visit to these exotic temples starting with the Western Group of Temples – the largest and most significant among all temple groups. Next, visit the Eastern Group and the Southern Group of Temples. In the evening, enjoy a captivating Light and Sound Show that brings the history of Khajuraho to life. Return to the hotel for dinner, followed by an overnight stay in Khajuraho.
Embark on a small excursion to Raneh Waterfalls and Panna Wildlife Sanctuary.
Raneh Waterfalls – A tourist retreat located approximately 20 kilometers from Khajuraho. The scenic Ken Gharial Sanctuary is situated at the confluence of the Ken and Khudar rivers, a short distance from Raneh Falls. Enjoy the breathtaking waterfalls before moving on to Panna.
Panna Tiger Reserve – Located just 25 kilometers from Khajurajo (approximately a half-hour drive). Here, you will have the chance to see:
Cheetal (Spotted deer)
Sambar
Nilgai (Blue bull)
Chinkara (Indian gazelle)
Chowsingha (Four-horned antelope)
Langoor (Hanuman langur)
Wild boar
Jackal
Tiger sightings are possible by chance. The forest area spans a diverse region, from lush green forests to rough and dry terrain. You will also get a chance to see a tribal community and a famous waterfall known as Pandav Fall.
Bandhavgarh National Park is smaller in size compared to Kanha, but tiger sightings are very much possible at Bandhavgarh. The park is home to:
40 leopards
250 species of birds
35 species of mammals, including nilgais, wild boars, jackals, gaurs (Indian bison), sambars, and porcupines
The park gets its name from a fort atop the 800-meter-high cliffs of the escarpment, part of the Vindhyan mountain range. One can reach the ramparts of the fort in about an hour – it is an interesting place to explore while in Bandhavgarh.
The credit for developing Bandhavgarh National Park goes to the Maharajas of Rewa, who preserved it as their hunting ground. Return to your hotel and be prepared for a morning safari the next day in the core jungle area.
An early morning safari at Bandhavgarh National Park is offered in three safari zones:
Tala – The premium safari zone (safari charges are higher here)
Magadhi
Khitauli
Return to the resort in the late afternoon. You can relax by the hotel pool. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities.
